The Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company was incorporated in 1945.
On April 29, 1946 a special meeting of the Orangetown Town Board was held for the purpose of creating a Fire Protection District in the Hamlet of Blauvelt. The resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of the Board, and the resolution was filed in the Office of the Clerk of Rockland County.
