Interested in Joining the Volunteer Fire Service? Stop by the Blauvelt Firehouse any Monday between 7pm and 9pm(Except Holidays)

As an “Active” member of the Company you will: 
• Earn credit toward LOSAP or "defined-pension" based on years of service. 
• Receive a life insurance policy at no cost, following successful completion of probation. 
• Be supplied with a complete set of firefighting gear, uniform and work shirt at no cost. 
• Receive, at no cost, an annual medical examination. 
• The opportunity to apply and earn scholarships and tuition reimbursement for college through Company, County and FASNY and NYS Association of Fire Chiefs.
• Earn a stipend for training received.
• Preferred use of facilities.
• Gym reimbursement assistance.

To be an active member of the Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company Inc. as a volunteer firefighter an applicant must: 
• Complete a membership application with Police background check including $15 for 
initiation fee and first year dues, $6 there after, and be over the age of 16.

• Have application approved by majority vote of the Company and be accepted by the 
Board of Fire Commissioners

• Serve one (1) year probation 
• Complete the “NYS Firefighter I” course (110 hours) or equivalent work-experience
• Attend at least 12 drills annually 
• Attend at least 4 Company meetings annually 
• Attend at least 10% of all fire alarms

To Become a Ladies Auxiliary Member:

Ladies Auxiliary meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month starting at 7:30 pm.

In order to become an Auxiliary member you must:

• Be over the age of 16
• Attend a meeting to introduce yourself.
• Receive a majority vote the meeting immediately following your introduction meeting.
• Pay yearly dues ($6.00 active memeber/$3.00 associate member)
